Repton Prep

A magical place to learn...

Parents who want their children to stay children for longer will instantly value the amazing surroundings of Repton Prep; a school offering wide-open spaces, climbing trees and communing with nature in lesson time as well as during playtime. The School’s 55-acre grounds benefit from outstanding facilities, including tennis courts, a full-sized astro-turf pitch, dedicated cricket and football pitches, a swimming pool, a beautiful lake used for watersports and endless woods used for Forest School as well as academic learning.

But here, outstanding teachers beat outstanding facilities every time. The School has around 400 pupils, making it large enough to achieve excellence in and out of the classroom, yet small enough for individuals to thrive and develop. Academic standards are high and creative subjects, including Music, Art, Drama and Design, are considered a vital part of an all-round education. The School has a national profile in Sport, particularly in football, hockey and swimming. Pupils flourish and they develop the skills, qualities and values that will lead to a successful life.

Whilst it is undoubtedly modern in terms of practice and outlook, the traditional values of encouraging pupils to aim high whilst showing respect for all are still of utmost importance. The Repton Prep spirit is that none of us as important as all of us.

Boarding at Repton Prep

Headmaster of Repton Prep, Rob Relton, emphasises the importance of creating a caring, warm environment where children feel happy and at ease in the company of their friends, saying: "The Repton Prep community is a supportive, purposeful and unbounded group of young people – so much so that pupils often enrol for day schooling and quickly swap to boarding so that they can make the most of all the incredible opportunities on offer”.  Repton Prep’s Houseparents and their families live with the boarders in each House, creating a strong sense of family. The closeness of the boarding community and the enormous emphasis placed on caring for the emotional, physical and mental wellbeing of boarders ensures every child thrives.

Repton Prep parents have one thing in common – they do not want their children to grow up too fast. At playtime pupils of all ages climb trees, build dens and play imaginative games. Childhood is the precious time when imagination knows no bounds and never has that been truer than at Repton Prep.

Open days and visits

The School welcomes prospective parents and pupils for personal tours as well as for Open Days and specialist Open Days, for example aimed at performance swimmers. Please contact the Admissions Manager, Ellie Jones, for more information: ejones@repton.org.uk
