Kingswood School

Kingswood School

Ignite your Potential...

Kingswood School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school located on a magnificent 120-acre site in Bath. Both the Prep School (nine months - 11 years) and the Senior School (11 - 18 years) offer a broad, holistic education, in which pupils are encouraged to develop self-assurance and high levels of personal motivation. In this environment, pupils achieve astonishing successes as they constantly progress well beyond their natural potential.

Kingswood is a school which transforms lives, and the commitment to make a real difference to every child who passes through sits at the very heart of the School’s ethos. Students are challenged to develop their own talents while encouraging others to do the same. Kingswood promotes confidence, open-mindedness and tolerance along with creativity and a spirit of enquiry. Academic achievement takes place within the context of all-round personal development, and high standards are combined with a sense of responsibility and service. Kingswood students excel on a personal level while also making a real difference to the lives of others.

Offering a home-away-from-home environment, support for working parents are very much part of the Kingswood ethos. Parents of day pupils can take advantage of early-morning breakfast, late stay with supper and prep or the option to board overnight in one of our warm and cosy boarding houses. Our experienced House Parents are extremely attentive to the fact that this will be many children’s first experience away from home and are totally focused on meeting their emotional needs.

On-site boarding activities include early morning yoga, swimming, tennis and cricket, evening floodlit hockey or tennis, PE, community games and music practice. Weekends for Boarders are jam packed with fun-filled activities, combining adventures such visiting Longleat and Cotswold Water Park, with some much-needed downtime to relax and unwind. This is part of our commitment to mental health and children's well-being and staff are working hard to develop our skills in mindfulness in all of our pupils.

Kingswood is widely recognised as one of the top schools for sport in the South-West, with students competing at both national and international levels. We are fortunate to have strong links with various professional clubs such as Bath Rugby; we work with Team Bath at Bath University so that we can support gifted and talented sportsmen and women in fulfilling their athletic potential.

Following an ISI Inspection in 2022, the School secured an ‘Excellent’ rating, which reviewed the quality of pupil’s academic and other achievements and the quality of pupil’s personal development. Academic results are consistently excellent. In recent years, Kingswood has been ranked in the top 5% nationally for added-value, and regularly placed in the top 10 co-educational boarding or boarding/day schools.

At Kingswood, we believe that every individual has talents to be discovered and nurtured. We develop these whilst also preparing students for their future beyond school. With an extensive co-curricular programme offering over 100 activities, pupils achieve astonishing successes as they constantly progress well beyond their natural potential.
